Newsmag Theme Review

Newsmag WordPress Theme Review

Overall Theme Rating := 8 out of 10

If Newsmag was a film – it would be the “Titanic” based solely on the resources spent on its development. The outcome (especially on the v1.0 release) is a product with a lot of “eyes” to dot and “tees” to cross. That said, it is probably the best WordPress theme by a country mile.

Some of its features will in time become the “gold standard” – mandatory for themes targeting the professional enterprise niche.

Newsmag’s Highlights

Newsmag is the first theme to provide a “Load Demo Data” button. This feature is long overdue for WordPress themes of every description. How many times has a theme looked enticing suited and booted (Canvas from WooThemes is a good exambple) but when it adorns the robes of your articles it becomes a different proposition?

This disappointment can be avoided with a load demo data so that it looks on your machine as good (or as bad) as new.

Newsmag Key Facts

Cost : £50
Term : Only one install unlike most themes which come with lifetime use on unlimited websites.
Has Demo Video : Yes (good quality)
No. of Plugins Required – About 3 plugins – and the screen is a mess until the “editor” plugin is installed.
Key Problem 1 – Some annoying blocks of html/php code appear on screen ( hopefully this is resolved soon ).
Key Problem 2 – This plugin requires that it be registered and it makes quite a lot of fuss until you do so.

From Theme Design to Customer Design

Play the video below in order to see the work as the original theme designers intended. Our finished product will be different. And not as prestigious, initially. However we will continue to evolve the design and improve on it taking various feedback channels into account.

Wow did you use Newsmag theme to do this website – I think that is one of the best theme that money can but – please let me know I want to do my website in the same theme – if not that something from woo themes.

    • Britney yes thank you for taking time to look at the theme and the site template – yes we used Newsmag because it will scale and ultimately Newsmag can be the foundation of different types of websites – fashion , banking, retail, social forum – you name it.

We think it is worth the investment to learn it – its very complex but we believe when we come out the other side we will have a real edge over other WordPress site builders.

I’m currently doing project for client who forwarded me this site for help with semantic forms – can you give me detailed information please on how to implement semantic forms on a wordpress site – please tell me plugins and widgets necessary if I need them.

  • Bernard Hollins

Yes keep the WordPress plugins theme going – also one quick question – do you prefer or – I’m a newbie in this area and nowhere gives you a straight answer to a straight question.

    • Bernard I tend to gravitate towards – I find it just that little bit more slick and the quality of information (especially on plugins) that bit more robust.

  • Incredible points. Great arguments. Keep up the amazing spirit.

  • Greetings from Florida! I’m bored to death at work! So what is the secret of fast loading on iPhone – is it because your images are made specifically for each device type?

    • Coy yes that is right – you just use 3 sets of images – full size, a quarter size and then 1 eigth – For a PC you load the full ones for a tablet the quarter ones and smartphones the eighth ones. That’s how WE ROLL (and ps – being bored in Florida is an Oxymoron – believe you me!)

If some one wishes expert view concerning blogging and
site-building afterward i propose him/her to visit this web site, Keep up the nice job.

    • Thank you Shirley we do try our best so it is nice to see someone appreciates itl

      • Iterative development – sorry I forgot to mention this – the point here is that you develop websites iteratively – Not waterfall with the requirements and then the design then implementation and so on – so the article is saying to use the Walking Skeleton methodology.

Just build enough website to get it walking then iterate round putting the meat on its bones! Ha ha

  • This article is confusing – first you say you are well-informed but the article points out that you should put all your customer images in one page – is that for real. Anyway – not bad for a Tuesday morning – I’m off to get coffee – do you want some?

  • Building customer websites is okay but do you have to show all those images on the page – I mean come on !!! Apart from the bit about see through images – the article is not bad. Especially for those that are new to the blogosphere.
    Many thanks for sharing.

  • Yes WordPress plugins need a revamp from top to toe – I just wasted at least 5 hours of time to find the right theme for the website I am doing – also when you install plugin you find so many compatibility issues not just with other plugins but also my setup is wordpress multi-themed install – that breaks at least half the plugins.

  • Hey there! Someone in my Facebook group shared this site with us so I came to take a look.

I’m definitely loving the information. I’m book-marking and will be tweeting this
to my followers! Terrific blog and brilliant style and
